From Green to Sustainability: Advancing a Holistic Paradigm for RegenerativeDevelopment – Insights from European and Asian Cases

Following the successful webinar on November 28, 2024, titled "From Green to Sustainability," key sponsors including SwissCham ASIA, Singularity Academy, Häring Group, REFIRE Group, Xpeng, Swiss Business Council of Pakistan, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Switzerland are proud to announce the publication of a groundbreaking research paper. The publication, From Green to Sustainability: Advancing a Holistic Paradigm for Regenerative Development – Insights from European and Asian Cases” builds upon the rich discussions held during the webinar and presents four key case studies from Europe and Asia, including 

  • Bhutan’s Gross National Happiness Index and Gelephu Mindfulness City: Exemplifying well-being-centric governance and urban planning.

  • Sustainable Timber Engineering in Green Construction: Showcasing innovative approaches to eco-friendly architecture.

  • Hydrogen Energy Innovations: Driving advancements in clean energy solutions.

  • China’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Revolution: Accelerating the global transition to sustainable transportation.

The study concludes that achieving a sustainable civilisation requires bold systemic changes, collective action, and an unwavering commitment to ecological integrity and intergenerational well-being. A key contribution of the research is the introduction of an Ecological Comprehensive Framework for Sustainability, which emphasises balance, adaptability, and collaboration. This framework offers a theoretical upgrade by integrating five interrelated elements, providing actionable insights for advancing sustainability globally.

The paper has been published in the Singularity Academy Frontier Review, a peer-reviewed academic-practice journal (ISSN: 2813-3641), renowned for fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and stimulating critical discussion on pressing global challenges. The issue, numbered #20241225, represents a milestone in bridging theory and practice in sustainability.
