Our Story

Founded in 1994, the former body of SwissCham Asia  - SACC -  was born out of a visionary idea: to create a platform that would foster an open dialogue between Asia and Switzerland, uniting two distinct regions in a harmonious exchange of economics, business, and culture. Over the past 30 years, SwissCham Asia (inheriated from its early body SACC) has grown to become one of the most significant institutions dedicated to this mission, a beacon of connectivity and integration in an increasingly interconnected world.

The early days of the SwissCham Asia was marked by enthusiastic efforts to establish strong foundations. Business leaders, economists, and cultural ambassadors from both regions came together, eager to explore opportunities and build partnerships. The Chamber hosted its first series of forums and seminars, where ideas flowed freely, and collaborations began to take root.

One of the hallmark achievements of the SwissCham Asia has been its role in facilitating economic dialogue. By organizing high-profile economic summits and business expos, the Chamber has provided a stage for policymakers, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs to engage in meaningful discussions. These events have not only highlighted the complementary strengths of Asia and Switzerland but also paved the way for numerous trade agreements and joint ventures.

What We Value

Beyond economics and business, the SwissCham Asia has always placed a strong emphasis on cultural exchange. It believes that understanding and appreciating each other’s cultures is key to building lasting relationships. Through cultural festivals, art exhibitions, and culinary events, the Chamber has brought the rich heritage of Asia to Switzerland and vice versa. These events have been instrumental in fostering mutual respect and admiration among people from diverse backgrounds.

In its journey spanning over three decades, the SwissCham Asia has navigated through numerous challenges, adapting to the changing global landscape while staying true to its core mission. It has played a crucial role during economic upheavals, providing support and guidance to businesses navigating uncertain times. During the recent global pandemic, the Chamber’s virtual platforms became lifelines, enabling continued dialogue and collaboration even when physical meetings were impossible.

Today, the SwissCham Asia stands as a pillar of strength and unity, continuing to build bridges of opportunity and understanding between Asia and Switzerland. It is a testament to what can be achieved when regions come together with a shared purpose and a spirit of cooperation. The SwissCham Asia's story is one of vision, perseverance, and the unwavering belief that through dialogue and collaboration, a brighter, more connected future is possible for all.

As the SwissCham Asia looks to the future, it remains committed to its founding principles. It will continue to innovate, inspire, and connect, ensuring that the bond between Asia and Switzerland grows ever stronger, enriching both regions in countless ways.

The journey of the SwissCham Asia is far from over; it is a story that continues to unfold, promising new chapters of shared success and cultural harmony.
