Uzbekistan and Switzerland Chambers Sign Cooperation Agreement to Boost Trade and Investment

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — 8 June 2026 — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CCIU) and SwissCham ASIA today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a framework to strengthen investment, trade, innovation, and business collaboration between Uzbekistan and the Swiss, European, and Asian business communities.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Vakhabov Davron, Chairman of the CCIU, and Dr. Urs Lustenberger, President of SwissCham ASIA. It marks a significant step in deepening economic ties between the two regions and creating new opportunities for enterprises on both sides.
Under the MoU, the two chambers will cooperate across investment promotion, trade facilitation, business delegations, innovation collaboration, and sector-specific partnerships. Planned forms of cooperation include the exchange of delegations, joint events, policy dialogues, business matchmaking, publications, and the establishment of thematic working groups.
A central feature of the agreement is its direct benefit to members. The members of both CCIU and SwissCham ASIA are entitled to participate in, apply for, and benefit from the cooperation activities, programmes, and events organised under the MoU, on a non-exclusive and non-discriminatory basis. Each chamber will inform its members of the opportunities arising from the partnership.

The MoU will remain in effect for an initial term of two years and may be extended by mutual agreement. The two organisations will each designate a focal point to coordinate implementation and advance joint initiatives in the months ahead.
