SwissCham ASIA and DaNang Join Forces to Shape Future of Technology, Research, and Economic Collaboration in Vietnam

SwissCham ASIA commenced its high-level mission to Vietnam today at the official invitation of the DaNang City Government and the Superior Court—marking a strengthened strategic partnership between Switzerland and Vietnam in technology, education, legal development, medical care development, and economic transformation. The delegation is led by Dr. Urs Lustenberger, President of SwissCham ASIA, and Prof. Dr. Ying Zhang, Chairwoman for the Greater China Region of SwissCham ASIA, Professor at Singularity Academy, and Executive Chairwoman of Verus Care Group—a Germany-based medical care group focusing on acute hospital chains and healthcare development for mind–body balance.
The delegation received an exceptional welcome from DaNang’s leadership, underscoring the city’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Switzerland and accelerating innovation-driven growth.
During the first working day, SwissCham ASIA engaged in forward-looking discussions with key institutions shaping DaNang’s technological and economic future. At DaNang Hi-Tech Park and the DaNang Specific Economic Zones Authority, the delegation met Mr Nguyen Cong Tien, Deputy Director, to explore collaboration in artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, advanced materials, green technologies, export-control mechanisms, and intellectual property governance—all essential pillars for Da Nang’s ambition to lead the ASEAN innovation landscape.

At DaNang University of Science and Technology, Vietnam’s leading engineering and technology institution, the delegation met Prof. Le Tien Dung (Vice Rector), Prof. Vo Tuan Minh (Technology & External Relations), and Dr. Do Viet Hai (Director, Centre for Business and Students, Faculty of Electronics). Discussions highlighted opportunities in AI capability development, semiconductor-related education, technological research collaboration, and international talent programs, reinforcing DUT’s role as a key engine of high-quality human resource development.

Later in the day, the delegation was formally received by Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the DaNang City People’s Committee, with the participation of Ms. Huynh Lien Phuong, Deputy Chief of Office for Investment Promotion and Facilitation. The meeting addressed DaNang’s strategic priorities in technology ecosystem building, legal and arbitration capacity, startup development, leadership education, and medical care development. Both sides emphasized a shared mission to elevate DaNang’s global competitiveness and forge long-term Swiss–Vietnam collaboration.
