SwissCham ASIA was honoured to meet and present to a delegation of Singaporean companies at the conclusion of a landmark visit organised by Nanyang Polytechnic's School of Engineering ("NYP") and supported by the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training on Sustainable Development.
The Roundtable capped a week-long tour of Swiss companies recognised for their leadership in sustainability. The programme targets Singaporean SMEs under SkillsFuture Singapore, a statutory board of the Ministry of Education.
The event was hosted by LGT Bank (Switzerland) Ltd., a leading private bank headquartered in Liechtenstein with deep sustainability commitments and ambitious decarbonisation goals across its global operations.
SwissCham ASIA assembled a pan-European panel of members including a global pioneer in green steel and entrepreneurs in energy transition and bio-engineering, from Switzerland, Germany and Italy.
NYP's delegation comprised Singaporean companies active in electronics and climate data, joined by senior staff from the School of Engineering.
The interactive breakout session proved particularly productive, with several participants identifying clear opportunities for cross-border business development between Switzerland and Singapore.
Building on the Switzerland-Singapore nexus across critical sectors of the real economy with an overarching sustainability priority - energy transition, Al and its infrastructure, advanced semiconductors and water - SwissCham ASIA and NYP are now working to establish a collaboration framework in groundbreaking technologies among entrepreneurial SMEs. Central to this is the network, platform and talent that NYP brings in Singapore, combined with the pivotal technologies deployed through SwissCham ASIA's member groups, not only from Switzerland, but also Germany and Italy. A natural and powerful match.
