Bangladesh— $450 billion economy, the world’s second-largest ready-made garment producer, a market of 180 million with a sizable middle-class segment and a geo-economic location. 
  

The Bangladeshi economy, roiled by political strife last year, is again on the path to regaining its momentum. According to the IMF, the economy is expected to grow by 5.4% in the Fiscal Year 2026. Its sizeable middle-class is increasingly spending on premium products.

The ready-made garment juggernaut aims to become a manufacturing hub in the region and diversify its industrial and export base. To make this transition, Bangladesh will require new technology and innovative solutions. To this end, the Swiss private sector is well-positioned to become a key technology supplier to the Bangladeshi market.
